Data Capturer/Driver

Description

The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint Data Capturer/Driver for the National Department of Health Global Fund Tuberculosis (TB) Project in eThekwini district. The Data Capturer/Driver will be required for the mobile Digital Chest X-ray units to support data capturing and data management activities. The Data Capturer/Driver will be part of a mobile team comprising a radiographer and Enrolled Nursing Assistant. This is a fixed-term contract position, renewable based on continuation of funding and performance

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Digital Chest X-ray programme with data capturing and data management activities. • Support the capturing, verification and reporting of data at supported health facilities and community level, with a specific focus on TB data. • Ensure that all data are up to date and that any linkage referrals are identified and reported to the facility staff who are responsible for tracking and tracing. • Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting of data for reporting. • Interact with colleagues and project management to ensure fulfilment of project objectives. • Interact with Department of Health staff to capture relevant subject-related information. • Collect and verify monthly and quarterly data to ensure data quality and conduct data clean-up as required. • Provide system-generated monthly and quarterly data and compile reports on successes and challenges to the facility, sub-district and district. • Conduct filing and administrative duties and perform any ad hoc duties as required. • Ensure that weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports are submitted on time. • Set up and prepare for daily activities. • Prepare the vehicle for community outreach and maintain an accurate vehicle log.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite • Effective data management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with stakeholders, and a customer focus • Good conflict resolution skills • Results-driven decision-making ability • A valid South African Code 10 driver’s licence plus a Professional Driving Permit (PDP), with a commitment to ensuring compliance with all local driving laws and regulations • No criminal record • Experience of working in a donor-funded environment will be advantageous.

• Grade 12 Certificate

Experience Required

• Two years’ experience in data capturing and reporting • Two years’ experience as a driver • Experience in recording and reporting of TB and HIV data • Knowledge of capturing data in any health M&E systems (TIER .NET and/or DHIS) will be advantageous.

Remuneration

The salary package for this position based on Global Fund requirements ranging from R222,703.00 to R 296,491.32 as the Total Cost to Company.
