Information and Communication (ICT) Support Technicians

The Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint two ICT Support Technicians to support and scale up implementation of the Synchronised Communication in Health (SyNCH) data repository/web system for the Central Chronic Medicine Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) programme at facility and sub-district level. This position is based in KwaZulu-Natal Province in eThekwini (x1) The incumbents will conduct daily visits to Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities and CCMDD pick-up points (PuPs) within the district, to provide technical support for web system registration and prescription activities, in fulfilment of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE PRO) Project objectives for differentiated care. They will monitor the functionality and usage of the web system at facilities and PuPs, and provide user access and appropriate end-user training at facility and sub-district level. The role entails resolving or escalating challenges experienced in usage of the web system to the District Support M&E Co-ordinators (DSCs), and resolving or escalating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) hardware and software issues at health facilities. The incumbents will provide an interface between the web system Helpdesk and facilities by communicating system utilisation progress to the DSCs. This is a fixed-term contract position, ending on 30 September 2024.

SUB-DISTRICT CO-ORDINATORS

Health Systems Trust (HST) wishes to appoint four Sub-District Co-ordinators in eThekwini District, KwaZulu-Natal Province to support co-ordination and management of the South Africa Sustainable Response to HIV and TB (SA SURE PRO) Project at sub-district level. The project aims to strengthen local capacity for the provision of sustainable HIV- and TB-related care and treatment. PURPOSE The incumbent will provide strategic direction, and technical and operational support to the project team and the Department of Health (DoH). SUMMARY Interacting with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to improve accountability for an integrated and strengthened health system, the Sub-District Co-ordinator (SDC) will co-ordinate and manage the project and associated staff, and provide technical support through mentorship and coaching of Primary Health Care (PHC) Supervisors and sub-structures in the assigned sub-district. Working with community structures and the DoH in the Sub-district, the SDC will provide support to targeted HIV and TB care and treatment, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention interventions. The incumbent will provide strategic direction and operational support to the project team and DoH staff. They will be responsible for initiating, implementing and reporting on project activities and sub-district performance, and will contribute to other organisational initiatives, such as technical input for proposal-writing. This is a fixed-term contract position, renewable based on availability of funding.
