The Data Capturer works with the Powering Breast Cancer Project team to capture, verify and analyse data that is submitted. They ensure that the data quality dimensions such as validity, reliability, integrity, timeliness, completeness, confidentiality, ethics and accuracy are met for all data that is collected at facility and community level. This is a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
LEAD NAVIGATOR
KwaZulu-Natal | Zululand District Municipality | Contract
The Health Systems Trust (HST) seeks to appoint a Lead Navigator for the Breast Cancer Project in Zululand. To lead, coordinate and supervise Patient Navigators within the Breast Cancer Navigation Project while actively participating in patient navigation processes across screening, abnormal results follow-up, diagnosis, referral, treatment initiation, treatment support, adherence support, follow-up and survivorship. The role ensures that patients receive timely, coordinated, person-centred support; barriers to care are identified and addressed; complex cases are escalated appropriately; and navigation services are delivered in line with project objectives, approved clinical referral pathways, organisational policies, confidentiality requirements and reporting standards. This is a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and funding
Monitoring & evaluation officer

The Health Systems Trust (HST) seeks to appoint a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer for the Breast Cancer Navigation Project in Zululand and Gauteng. The M&E Officer will support the implementation of the Breast Cancer Navigation Project by strengthening monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning systems across supported districts and facilities. The role will ensure timely collection, verification, analysis, reporting and use of high-quality breast cancer diagnosis, referral, treatment initiation and patient navigation data to improve patient tracking, continuity of care, programme performance and evidence-based decision-making. The incumbent will work closely with the Project Manager, Lead Navigator, Nurse Clinician, Department of Health teams, facility staff, data capturers and partner organisations to strengthen the project’s evidence base and support continuous quality improvement. This is a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
PATIENT NAVIGATORS

The Health Systems Trust (HST) seeks to appoint 19 Patient Navigators for the Breast Cancer Project in Zululand (9) & Gauteng (10). To provide patient-centred navigation support for women and clients across the breast cancer continuum, including diagnostic work-up, treatment initiation, adherence, follow-up, survivorship and palliative care referral where required. To identify and reduce barriers to timely breast cancer care by coordinating appointments, referrals, results follow-up, health education, psychosocial support and linkage between facilities, treatment centres, community structures and project partners. To maintain accurate client records, monitor patient movement through the care pathway, trace clients who miss appointments, and escalate complex clinical, social or system barriers to the Lead Navigator, Nurse Clinician or relevant multidisciplinary team. This is a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
PROFESSIONAL NURSE
Gauteng | Contract
Health Systems Trust (HST) seeks to appoint a Professional Nurse for the Breast Cancer Navigation Project in Gauteng, City of Johannesburg District. To provide professional nursing leadership, clinical oversight and supportive supervision to the breast cancer navigation team, ensuring that clients are supported across the breast cancer continuum from referral through diagnosis, treatment initiation, follow-up, survivorship and palliative care as applicable. To work closely with the Department of Health, facilities, oncology services and community stakeholders to strengthen timely access to breast cancer services, reduce barriers to care, monitor programme performance and support quality improvement in line with applicable policies, guidelines and reporting requirements. This is a fixed-term contract, renewable based on performance and funding.
